Matt,
Are you using an ODBC link to the access table?  Generally mapinfo needs a
autonumber field or an integer field to act as a primary index.  Is it a
view (in which case i would have thought it would have found the unique
key field), or is it a table that the primary index is no longer the
primary index, but merely a integer field?

Posibly need more info.
