Cindy, I think you can do this if you create a view from your base table. This view need to to two things: 1. Select the columns with X and Y twice 2. Rename your Primary Columns to MI_PRINX
Now you need to make the view mappable, an then you should be able to 1) see the coordinates using the one set of XY-columns that aren't used to create the point 2) create a new point simply by using the Pint tool in the map HTH, Peter Horsbøll Møller GIS Developer, MTM Geographical Information & IT COWI A/S Odensevej 95 DK-5260 Odense S. I want to be able to do two things that so far seem mutually exclusive: I want to explicitly view the X and Y of a point that is in an ODBC LINKED ACCESS table (i.e., have the x and y as fields visible in my table) *AND* I want to be able to ADD POINTS to that table from MapInfo (using the symbol tool) , and then refresh the base Access table from the linked table. I can accomplish one or the other but have not been able to do both. Any help, insight, clues, solutions much appreciated in advance, Cinda Graubard GeoMax _______________________________________________ MapInfo-L mailing list [email protected] http://www.directionsmag.com/mailman/listinfo/mapinfo-l _______________________________________________ MapInfo-L mailing list [email protected] http://www.directionsmag.com/mailman/listinfo/mapinfo-l
