Tony This is how I have always done labelling Even when I'm creating text objects
Find out the scale in the layout window just double click the layout frame say 1:10000 Now go to the map window and change view to that scale 1:10000 Do your entire label placement (What this does is shows you what the actual size is if you were in the layout window before you change this scale in the map window Then back to you layout window) Double click on the layout frame, retype the scale you want and you should have your labels in all their right places Even if they don't appear in the correct place on the map window Regards, Andrew Hare GIS Officer Waimate District Council New Zealand -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tony Baylis Sent: Thursday, 22 December 2005 11:40 a.m. Cc: MapInfo List Subject: Re: [MI-L] Wandering Text Problem Carl has it right. We do a lot of labelling on drillhole mapping and it is imperative to follow his procedure prior to plotting or labels usually cover the hole symbol. And yes you would think this would have been fixed, along with the fun and games of aligning text and symbols for legends in the workspace Tony Carl Schaefer wrote: > You'd think this "bug" would have been solved long ago.
