MapInfo added support for JPEG2000 in MapInfo 7.0, so you should be able to
read these filetypes.
The problem can be to get the files orientated. Normally MapInfo requires a
tab-fil that will hold the orientation information including the projection.
But MapInfo can also create this tab file from a World file (for JPEG200 I
think the type is .J2W).

The .ers I suppose is a special ERMapper registration file, that wouldb need a
special ERMapper tool to read. Maybe you just need a newer version of
MapImagery, if this application does "understand" JPEG200 at all.

Subject: RE: [MI-L] Opening .jp2 raster files in MapInfo

You should be able to open them with the free v7 of JPEG2000/ ECW Viewer from
Earth Resource Mapping. It's downloadable in the usual place.

I'm not sure how that will translate to opening the .JP2's in MI Pro, though
- I haven't looked lately to see if the ECW DLL designed specifically for
MapInfo Pro has been updated to handle JPEG2000.

The JPEG200/ECW SDK is freely available from ERM but MapInfo Corporation would
need to write the DLL for MapInfo Pro - it's their responsibility (or at least,
not ERM's, AFAIK).
