Phillip, 

If you are using MapInfo 7.8 or MapInfo 8.0 you will find a WFS layer with 
aiports of the world.

Goto File > Open Web Service > Open WFS... and select World Airport Locations.

I must admit, that I'm not aware of the precession of these airports

Does anybody have a USA Airport layer they could send me with only Commercial 
flights.  Like, New York's JFK, LaGuardia, Newark; Chicago's
Midway, O'hare.
