Title: MapInfo still locks up after re-install

I am trying to find the pixel position and geographic position of a raster table’s control points. It was still running (but not doing anything) 22 hours later, so I had to end it using task manager as I could not afford another totally unproductive day. When I started MapInfo again,  CPU usage instantly shot up to 100% and MapInfo was "unresponsive", didn't even get to the "do you want to open any of there?" pop-up. I first tried the option to "repair" the installation, with no effect, and I have now uninstalled GELink and MapInfo (which also mutilated my network profile), reinstalled both and the behaviour persists.
