Urban Mapping, a New York-based GIS consulting firm, is looking for contractors to help with ongoing projects. You must have strong skills as a GIS analyst using MapInfo or Manifold-- ESRI skills aren't useful for this project. The work involves researching data at the community level, contacting planning departments and creating simple polygons. It is preferred that you also have an interest in urban planning/human geography or a related field. This position is ideal for students, part time workers and those looking to moonlight.
The work is detail-oriented--drawing polygons, editing attribute tables, cleaning (snapping and thinning) and similar processes are required. You must be able to travel to the NYC area for an initial meeting; after that, working remotely is fine. A minimum commitment of 10 hours/week is required. Projects are for a minimum of three months and can begin immediately. Pay is hourly and begins at $20, depending on experience. For consideration, please send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Include a resume and a paragraph summarizing your MapInfo/Manifold skills. No phone calls please! _______________________________________________ MapInfo-L mailing list [email protected] http://www.directionsmag.com/mailman/listinfo/mapinfo-l
