And one more option still - the open source toolkit GDAL, (http://www.gdal.org/). This is capable of translating between a number of grid formats, writing ESRI ASCII format that VM will import, and also USGS DEM that can be read directly by MI Pro with a bit of tweaking.

My geotiff has 'issues', being very large, but Grid Translator Pro was
