Christian,

Maybe your MapInfo is setup for european (I guess) adresses. In Europe the housenumber is placed after the roadname.

Go to Settings > Preferences > Addresses and check that the setting is as it should be

Subject: Re: Ang. [MI-L] Geocoding within MapInfo

Thanks for all the suggestions.  Here is how I have my TIGER file set up.
column 1 is "Street" which is indexed
column 2 is "FromRight" integer and indexed
column 3 is "ToRight" integer and indexed
column 4 is "FromLeft" integer and indexed
column 5 is "ToLeft" integer and indexed

I have done a random check on the TIGER file and the street names match up well with what I have in my second table containing the address I wish to geocode.  I'm still not getting any results using the automatic or interactive settings.  My problem is that if I have an address that is 5900 Main St, the only options I get when using the interactive mode is 59th St or something like that.  It is only looking at the first characters of my address and trying to match up with the house number instead of the street name.

Actually, it turns out that street geocoding doesn't require that the
street data be in view format. That's juat a device to save disk space. You
do have to have the fields named FromLeft, ToLeft, etc. and possibly the
field that contains the street name should be called "Street". The street
field MUST be indexed, and for geocoding to work your address street names
must match the spelling in the TIGER file. It's case-insensitive, but if
the street is named 'N Main St' in the TIGER file, then your address table
will have to also use 'N Main St' as in '1101 N Main St' and not just '1101 Main
St' or '1101 North Main Street'.
