Ian I must state first that I have no
experience with MapServer, but I do use SpatialWare with another non MapInfo IMS,
so I feel the issues may well be similar. I had a quick read through the
MapServer online documents, and it seems that MapServer does not directly
support the SpatilWare format. If you are using Oracle, MapServer does
support the Oracle format. I am coming from the SQLserver
implementation of SpatialWare. I noticed that MapServer does support ODBC
and can access geometry through this, as long as the geometry is in OGC well
known binary (WKB) or well known text (WKT) format. The IMS I use is in
exactly the same position, so I have programmed triggers on my tables so that
when items are added/altered in the Spatialware tables, then a column containing
WKB is also altered. Spatialware has the ability to convert its own
format to WKB using one of its spatial functions. One thing to note that
if you have a lot of users and decent size tables, ODBC will be pretty slow. There may be other methods using
MapServer, I only had a very, very quick look. Cheers James Kelly Spatial Information

[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ian Tidy Hi,
Has
anyone got MapServer working with SpatialWare? I am in the process of
testing MapServer and would like to access our live SpatialWare tables. Any
help would be appreciated. Cheers
