Many thanks for the help with the labelling...
With regard to the creating points is there a 'better' way of me loading
the data? The data is likely to be regularly updated outside of mapinfo
and I'd like the changes to show on the map.
Thanks Lee

Under Layer Control > Label > Select Label with: to Mooring ID
> now every time you hover over each point, the mooring name should
appear. You can also use + Chr$(13) + to insert a carriage return and then
include both Mooring ID and Owner Name!
I'm afraid that you will need to use the Create Points function every
time you add a new point - adding a new record to the csv file does not give
that record any spatiality i.e. actual geographical point on a map that you can
see and query. It simply adds another record to a static
database.

I am displaying Boat Moorings in mapinfo by loading a CSV file
which contains the following
Mooring ID, Owner Name, X co-or, Y co-or
The moorings are displayed as red dots and more info can be
found by clicking the 'i' button and then clicking on the red dot. I was
just wondering whether it would be possible to automatically label each red dot
with text from the corressponding record for example each red dot would be
labelled with the mooring ID.
Also when I edit existing entries in the csv file via excel
these changes can be seen in mapinfo. However if I add a new row/record in
the CSV file the new point does not appear without me selecting TABLES - CREATE
POINTS each time. Is there a way of automating the system so that any new
entries in my CSV file are added onto the map without manually creating the
points? Thanks, Regards Lee
