Hello MI Folks!

I have a database of information in Excel format and I have converted it to a DBF 4 file (after defining the field types to numeric with the appropriate decimal places) but for some reason MapInfo won't recognize two of my columns as numeric. These columns hold sample records in every 4th cell. I attempted entering zeroes in the blank cells and defining the column as numeric but when I try to open the DBF, I get the message "Cannot open table. Unable to open table CFgrapes.".

With the original data I was able to create points from my lat/long values and then map other columns of data, but since attempting to manipulate the file to view the sample records for mapping, I can no longer import the DBF.

I am using MapInfo 7.5

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Sharon Janzen
