Hi John!

Previous versions of MapInfo had a pixel limitation in output maps in order to accomodate Win95 users.
It had nothing to do with Acrobat Distiller or the pdf format per se.
The limit is removed in the current MI Pro version.
MapInfo now includes a pdf engine, in order to make pdf output even easier.

Subject: [MI-L] Saving to pdf

With all the discussion on creating pdf I also have a query.
It has been pointed out previously on this group that Acrobat distiller has a limit to the size of a graphics file it can produce. (If I remember correctly the number of pixels is limited ?).  So if you choose 600 dpi and the file is too large then Acrobat just drops pieces out and can only be overcome by selecting output at 300 dpi or lower.
Does anybody know if this limitation is an integral part of the pdf format or can the limitation be avoided by using one of the other available pdf utilities?
