Hi,

5 year ago, i have faced this problem
when autocad texts translated into mapinfo, the characters mostly appears
like

gh asdwt  etc,

i write a mb program to convert each letter to arabic. ( for ex.)
Q -> chr$(178)
H -> chr$(218)

To display the font choose arial Arabic
It wil appear as arabic.

But there is another problem.
Some autocad fonts uses different char mapping

This is the way ,
For DGN files there it is more strange , because first you must chaneg the
side of the letter from left to right
 For ex.
GHTY  to  YTHG

Then you can make char mappings.

Regards.

Has anyone else had this problem.

I am having trouble importing Arabic text from AutoCAD into MapInfo. It
reads fine in ACAD (2002), but when saved as DXF and imported into
MapInfo (V8.0), it doesn't make any sense.

Are there any tricks I should be aware of when dealing with Arabic text?
I am using an English Win XP unit with Arabic support installed, but
without success.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
