Hello everyone: My assistant created a map using a ttf font that contains geological
symbols. These were rotated individually and manually to reflect
their strike. The font can be downloaded off the Internet but it is locked
and cannot be embedded into a pdf file for distribution. I would like to change this to a MapInfo symbol but want to
retain their rotation. Since there are more than 600 of these on a map doing this
by hand is nearly impossible although there are only about 6 different types of
geological symbols. I can see two options: 1. Record
the rotation of the font into a field, manually replace the symbol by clicking
on the font, and somehow rotate it to the font’s rotation. 2. Convert
the font directly to a MapInfo symbol that I can select while maintaining the
rotation angle. If anyone can suggest how to do this or if you have a better
solution I would be more than grateful. I’m using MapInfo 8, have Discover 8 but don’t
have MapBasic if that helps. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide on
this topic. Best regards, Daniel Beauchamp, P.Geol. |
