Hi all,
I have a database of segements (polylines) with frlong/frlat and
tolong/tolat ... they are straight lines with no shape points (pipe lines)
.... and I want to add lateral connection pipe lines at a specified distance
(I have them in feet) to each segment between the begin node and end node...
basically I want to maintain the straight line and but add additional nodes
(as shape points) ... I don't want it split at each node.
For example:
A polyline:
from -81.384787 28.569485
to -81.384762 28.568757
and I want to add nodes (starting at the "from node") at these distances:
55 ft
91 ft
106 ft
148 ft
154 ft
175 ft
206 ft
253 ft
257 ft
Is there a conversion formula that will take the from/to lon/lats and
generate a node (a new lon/lat)
