Tim,

Tiger data is raw data from the Census Bureau.  It is meant more for delineating boundaries between Census Tracts and Blocks.

Any commercial street data is usually corrected and enhanced and therefore superior in accuracy and precision to the Census Tiger data.

Subject: [MI-L] Variances betwen StreetInfo Data and Tiger Data

I have some applications where I need to load Tiger Data along with the StreetInfo data that we purchased from our MapInfo dealer.

When I compare the two… for example I-25 in Denver in both databases, there is a variance of up to 200 feet (I-25/Tiger Data from I-25 StreetInfo Data).

Is there a projection issue that I’m missing (both are in Long/Lat)

Is there just that much inaccuracy in one or the other?

What am I doing wrong?  Can I correct it (short of redrawing the Tiger Data element that I need…..)

Thanks!
