Hello,
I've had quite a few problem myself with
transparencies, between raster and vector layers, and between two raster
layers.
For the first one, the problem had nothing to do with a
lack of memory, (I used to think that in the beginning), instead, it was due to
the fact that the printer didn't have enough time to process the images. So by
switching an option in the printer setting (change from "Start printing
immediately" to "start once the last page has been transfered to the spooler"),
everything was fine.
for the second one (raster transparency), I just swithed on
another option within Mapinfo itself : "use ROP method to print transparent
rasters" (I'm translating from french so it might not be phrased like that in
your software). If that option is not switched on, then only the upper layer
will print (very pale but...not transparent)
I use MI8.0 with HP800 (non PS). I've printed a layer of
256 colors bitmap (tiff format) + a ECW aerial photography on top (50%
transparent). works great.

Envoyé : lundi 11 septembre 2006 00:59 À : [email protected] Objet : [MI-L] Printing transperancies I have a map made up of two
overlaying raster images. The lower image is a street directory layer and the
upper image is aerial photography. Via Display settings> Adjust
image styles I have made the upper layer transparent so that the lower layer can
be seen through the upper layer. Beautiful in the map window and
layout window but when I print, the transparency does not occur and I get the
upper aerial photo image only. Other adjustments such as
contrast/brightness print just fine. I am using a HP Designjet 800 (non
postscript). I also tried printing to PDF with the same result.
Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks, Peter
