Anyone who hasn't already done so should note that Sept 29th is the last day on which MapInfo will allow upgrade prices for anything older than Version 7. So if you are like Herbert with MapInfo 6 at the moment in the UK you would upgrade to MapInfo 8.5 for £482 + delivery and VAT. After that day you would have to buy a full new copy which will be £1,095 instead. I don't know what the corresponding prices are outside the UK, but it will be a similar order of magnitude.

Personally I think this new rule is a bit mean, but as a MapInfo dealer we simply have to go with whatever we are instructed to do.

For those in the UK and Ireland you can see the full range of prices and your current options at:

Note that until Sept 29th the second last item on this page which is an upgrade from 7.x also applies to all older versions as well, thus 6.x. 5.x, 4.x etc.

Subject: [MI-L] define a range of 20 km

Dear,

We are working with Mapinfo Professional 6.0.  Does anybody know what the best way is to make a list of postal codes in a range of 20 km from 1 postal code?
Starting from 1 point on the map I would like to have all postal codes in a range of 20 km.

Thanks in advance.
