If you don't have access to MapBasic or some other code writing tools you
are pretty much stuck with doing it the way you are. Unfortunately the
column update tool does not extend to the .obj field. However when you do
the join you don't need to include all the fields from both tables. In your
steps you said that you were deleting the fields from Table 3 you didn't
want, just exclude these from the join and you will just have to save &
rename the resulting table.
