You could also convert the GRD to one of the ASCII format that Vertical Mapper can export to. I am sure one can be read from ESRI software. You might have to change some metadata (header in the text file) to get it to work.

More than ~95% of Verical Mapper is working fine. The problem is that there is no new versions of the product. There are other perhaps even better product on the market now, with frequent updates also. Check Engage3D, is also has some strong 2D capabilities: http://www.encom.com.au/template2.asp?pageid=24 Jakob Lanstorp Software Developer GIS, Surveying & IT COWI A/S Odensevej 95 DK-5260 Odense S Denmark Tel +45 6311 4900 Mob +45 4020 7529 Fax +45 6311 4949 E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.cowi.com -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Arne Scherrenberg Sent: Monday, October 02, 2006 12:56 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [MI-L] converting GRD to ESRI format Hi Ross, The only way (that I know of) for doing this is by converting the MI grid file in vertical mapper to a shape file. If this does not work do you have the MapInfo table that build the MapInfo grid file? If you do, then translate this tab file with universial translator to a shape file. I do not think you will be able to open that grid file anywhere else then vertical mapper, because I was told by MapInfo that this vertical mapper version is not working properly, and is a low priority for them. One of my big frustrations with MapInfo, as well.
