Subject: NOT MI. Help!!
I accidentally deleted a project folder (approx 100mb of files) that had not
been backed up for several months.
There reasons why the data was not backed up, mostly revolving around a
series of problems and checking out the fixes to make sure of a stable
system
before doing a complete backup. "Should have" at least done a partial
backup of the current projects. Since I have to rely on our Info Sys
Division
for backups, it adds another level of complexity. Still, "should have" done
more than I did. Another horror story to remind the rest of you to do
backups
frequently, faithfully.
I'm using NT4 with a 1mb Jazz drive and 2 hard drives divided into 4
partitions. The deleted folder was too large for the Recycle Bin, so the
folder
was deleted "Permanently". The error was recognized immediately. The
system has not been used since.
Our Info Sys Div. techs do not have or know of any procedure, program or
utility to recover deleted files. They are aware of "Service" companies
that
will recover such data for big bucks. Budget constraints loom large at
times
like this.
Anybody know of a program or utility that could recover my lost data???
...thanks ...Bob
