Thanks for the replies.  Here's the upshot:

* The F10 key is taken by the Windows OS.

* I have noticed that some other key combos are also unavailable, probably for
the same reason.  I had intentionally avoided those I knew (CTRL+C, etc.).

* The list of keys is available at the MI WWW site as follows:
