Can anyone suggest a technique for searching a table for overlapping
polygons (some are the same size, others have different shapes that overlap)
I can do this easily enough for seperate tables, but not for data within
tables.
Thanks
Lachlan

PS Its about 34 Deg C' in lovely Melton, we are into our 3rd month of water
restrictions but the heat is beautiful. Thought for all
is; why, on one of the driest continents on earth, do most of our houses in
urban areas not have water tanks or the ability to recycle grey water. Even
in the middle of a drought, our communities or leaders do not cry out for
changes in the way we design houses. As with our treatment of indigeous
people, we are continuing to fail to come to terms with living or adequately
caring for this environment.
I think its to do with the power of existing cultural practice and
institutional memory that stifles change even in the face of obvious
opportunites.
This is a limited arguement because we are supposed to have one of the
highest uptake rates of new technologies. This could be more practicing
denial of reality through stimulation provided by smooth technology, though
I do think GIS does give us a great tool to understand some problems for
example. Its Fine line between Pleasure and Pain.

Please laugh at our general head-in-sandness at all opportunities.
