I'm soon off to get myself a new PC, because the old one is quite "rusty".
Actually I'm not buying it myself, I have to tell/bescribe my needs to the
Computer-section so they can order it for me. They do not know what I do at
work (familliar?? :-), so if I don't tell them now, I'll probably get another
"rusty" box.
I have figure some of it out, except from two "little" things:
1) Have anyone suggestions for a videocard that works perfect for GIS
(MapInfo), Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, PageMaker etc.? And how much RAM do I
need on that card?
2) How much memory do I "need" (the HardDisk will be at least 6 Gb). I know
this questin can be answered with "..as much as you can afford....", but I'll
try anyway. I was thinking of 128 Mb Ram, but could I tell my boss that I need
more (say 200++)???
And in the end, I just have to say this: You've helped me out a lot of times,
TANX to all of you out there.....you really are great.
Best reg and virtual love
Rune :)
ps: My boss is wondering if I really need that SoundBlasterSoundCard to "do
MapInfo". I keep telling him is a vital bit of any GeographicInformationSystem,
don't you agree? If you can come up with a good reason for getting a
SBSoundCard with my new computer, feel free to post that one too.
