Hello: I've been using MapInfo Pro for a few years now, mainly to do simple projects such as plot points and create thematic maps. I've got a bit of a more complex task now. The most immediate thing I'm puzzled over now is coordinate system and projection use. I'm trying to use the U.S. Census Tiger Map Server for my CGI application to access and their coordinate system is NAD 27 Datum (according to their FAQ). I've heard of NAD 27 before and figured it's some kind of standard. But the map data I've worked with in MI opens at projection Lat/Long and MI category Lat/Long. Does anyone know what projection settings in MI I would save a copy of a table as to have the identical projection/coordinate system/datum as the Tiger Map Service? I'm sure this will be no surprise to anyone, but I have no cartographic education background!! ANY help or suggestions I would greatly appreciate...
