Once was bad enough, but THREE times? Arrg! A thousand curses on
the pinheads of MediaWeb in Ann Arbor MI. If you'd like to tell
them what you think, you can acquire their snailmail address and
phone numbers on the spammer list (see
http://www.ao.net/waytosuccess/spamaddresses_MI.html), but to
save you the trouble, it's:

MediaWeb, Inc.
310 Koch Ave.
Ann Arbor, MI 48103
734-669-9194
www.mediaweb.com

Anyone who would like to explore some anti-spam options might
find this page of interest: http://www.blighty.com/spam/. But I
encourage everyone to use only the legal options. This isn't a
frontier any more and we don't need vigilantes (IMHO).

Also if you feel so inclined you can contact your representatives
in the house and senate and voice your opinion at
http://www.house.gov and http://www.senate.gov, and get their
mailing addresses at http://www.senate.gov/contacting/index.cfm.
House addresses are available as downloadable mailing lists at
the bottom of the page at
http://clerkweb.house.gov/mbrcmtee/mbrcmtee.htm. (But keep these
in mind for any issue that concerns you... government by the
people only works when the people speak)

If you write about MediaWeb's activities, make sure you also cc
the Michigan senators--they ought to be told what's going on in
their state:

Spencer Abraham (R - MI)
329 DIRKSEN SENATE OFFICE BUILDING
WASHINGTON DC 20510
(202) 224-4822

Carl Levin (D - MI)
459 RUSSELL SENATE OFFICE BUILDING
WASHINGTON DC 20510
(202) 224-6221

Lone individuals aren't making a dent in this practice known as
"spamming", but I wonder what a group might be able to do. They
say politicians consider a personal mailed letter to be worth
several thousand votes, and maybe this issue will get their
attention. Or maybe these slime (the spammers, not the senators)
will have some interest in the fact that these unethical
practices are being furthered by US companies using unwitting
foreign government servers to do their dirty work. Who knows?
Maybe a complaint will do some good.
