Strange. I've imported MIF files before that did not have data with them
and have had no trouble. I re-created your map exactly, exported it from
MapInfo, Changed the column I had created [Junk Char(1)], and tried to
import. It doesn't work! Same error message you had.
Try replacing your entry...
Columns 0
...with...
Columns 1
Junk Char(1)
...and it will import. Not a great answer, but a work-around none the less.
