The Vice President's National Partnership for Reinventing Government (NPR) has awarded
a total of $644,623.00 to six National Spatial Data Infrastructure Community
Demonstration Projects through its Information Technology Innovation Fund. The
demonstrations are located in Baltimore City, Maryland; Dane County, Wisconsin;
Gallatin County, Montana; the Tijuana River Watershed, California and Mexico;
Tillamook County, Oregon; and the Upper Susquehanna-Lackawanna Watershed,
Pennsylvania.  Issues to be addressed
include water and environmental quality, smart growth and land use planning, habitat
restoration, flood mitigation and response, and crime mapping. These projects will
demonstrate the importance of partnerships between federal agencies in developing and
using geographic information and related computer technologies to improve the
livability of American communities.
