Dear Carol,

Thank you very much for your help on this.
Here is the situation :
We developed an application that has a central map window.
In this window a first map is first displayed. (it works so far...)
Then when we want to close all the tables that are displayed in this central window in
order to display new maps in this same window, it does display Ok but at the end of
the display procedure, it gives us the error message 34623 as a system error.
And then we are stucked, the MapInfo OLE object is lost.
Any hint as how we can bypass this ?
Thank you again
Best Regards

Driss,

Yes, I know all about internal error 34623. I need a t-shirt with that
number on in.

In my situation, the problem was caused by a window that was assigned to
the picture frame (window handle). When a new window was opened by the
.mbx, it has a new windowid and MapInfo SOMETIMES cannot handle these
situations. The error is sporatic and does not always occur.

Matt T. at MapBasic tech support is the only one I have found who knows
anything about this error - I happened to talk to him one day after
spending months trying to research this problem.

Part of the confustion with this error is that it displays itself as
"system error" which does not have the look and feel of a MapInfo
generated error.

Be careful of the MapInfo command of "close all" (closes the window)
while a map is being displayed in OLE. This is what caused the error in
my situation.

I am very interested in knowing the particulars of how this error is
occuring in your situation.
