The MapInfo pattern fills are entirely unsatisfactory for use with HP
plotters  (like HP2500 etc.), if you need reliable, high quality,
cartograpic output.  We use vector fill patterns that come with GEOBASEMAP
with 100% fantastic results.  It takes a bit of effort to learn to use them
successfully, but the results are well worth it. For the maps we produce
(Geology types), we couln't function without them.
