RIVERS SOURCE OF NITROUS OXIDE. NASDA News, 8 Jan. 1999.

Nitrous Oxide is
thought to be an important gas responsible for ozone depletion and the
USGS
says that rivers may be an important source that emits this gas into the

atmosphere. The study said that runoff from farm field and effluents
from
sewage treatment plants may be the reason rivers are producing the gas.
Researchers say they must take additional measurements from U.S. rivers
before they can estimate the damage being caused by river gas.

Hmmm.... Another use of MapInfo? Sort of a where and how much thing.

Also a huge river project in Queensland needing envrionmental analysis.
The Greenies feel it will damage the Great Barrier Reef .. the planners
feel it will bring new opportunities of employment and permanent
development.
