Hi all,

I have a 911 mapping application for MapInfo based on version 4.0 and above (now requires full 32 bit system).
This was designed for the FCO [financially challenged organization] which I'm over 23 of them [public safety
answering point = 911 for those not in this field]. The bigger cities like Corpus Christi already have something
of Computer Aided Dispatch and don't need this program.  To rephrase that Corpus is starting their
Automatic Vehicle Location/Mobile Data Terminal that will no have "mapping"......"bit maps" that is, that
are selected by the CAD and sent to the mobile unit.  Someone really missed the term mapping here.

Anyway 22 PSAP's have had been using this since 1997.

You can see a screen capture at my site http://www.wap3.com/mapali.htm

I have full support programs for initial addressing, cleanup and several others.

I'm in the process of combining the mbx's into an integrated ALI_EDIT(c) that will offer the same
simple and user friendly interface, instead of using the mbx's.
Beta copy just went to Live Oak County Texas today.

Only ONE problem, "map books" are a pain in the !@#$%^&* as with all specialized printing, whether
MapInfoI, AkeView, non-AutoCAD etc.

IF ANY ONE HAS A MAP BOOK APP AND WANTS TO PARTNER ON THIS ===== GET WITH ME ! !

Background: Been with Council of Governments for 5 years [operations & GIS] and local county addressing 1 year prior
began setup of mapping using MapInfo for COG in 1994, began writting 911 app in MapBasic in 1995,
converted to VisualBasic 3 in early 1997, converted to VB5 in early 1998, converted to Delphi4 in late 1998.
Delphi produces a 500k app that requires no baggage [can email updates] unlike the 4-disk install of VB which fails to properly install about half the time.

All design and testing of the app has been with the dispatchers in the area.  They are great folks who I owe a lot to
and they can talk some talk on the phone and radio like a ventriloquist, but techno's there NOT.  Typical training
has been 10 minutes for first person, then from there they are like kids and get everyone to come see.  Then they ask
what about the training and the answer is YOU just did it.

ANY ONE WANT A MARKETING OPPORTUNITY ?   I don't have enough time for everything as is.............

Any one from Texas, I have shown this program at several conferences in the past APCO, NENA and TCJIUG
and at several other special functions.
