Morning Jason,

I tried this with a raster image and, having selected the colour first and
then checked the transparent box, sure enough the colour selected
'disappeared' completely. I haven't tried this before. The vector data
underneath the 'transparent' colour shows through. Now need to think of a
use for this neat feature! I am using Mapinfo 5.0.

As far as I can tell, this change is stored in the table definition, eg.
"RasterStyle 5, 247", not the workspace. Interestingly, Mapinfo saved the
changes to the table without prompting me...

Anyhow, it works for me, all I can suggest is that you check that you are
able to write to the Mapinfo raster table since, if Mapinfo is writing to
the table without prompting, it may not tell you when it is unable to do so?
(if that makes any sense!)

Subject: MI Mapinfo 5.0 bug?
Date: 14 January 1999 20:48

I have a registed bitmap (a US topographic image), which has a grey ocean
surrounding the continental United States. In previous versions of MapInfo,
when I check the "Transparent" box in the Table>Raster>Adjust Image Styles
dialog, the ocean turns transparent. However, in 5.0, it ignores my
instructions (and being ignored is my single greatest
pet-peeve.....particularly by a machine!).

This is the only thing keeping me from upgrading to 5.0 for all my work.

Anybody else run into this?

Thanks in advance.
