So, what about data-aware controls in MapBasic ?? This would be very neat
and a major enhancement. Not every custom application problem deserves a
complex integrated mapping solution if you need data-aware controls.
What could be the reason that MI still does not provide this ? Is MapBasic
too weak of a language, is it marketing ?

< As you've already found out, you cannot use the For-Next inside another
statement ('Dialog'), so what you need to do is use For-Next to build a
dialog statement string and then use Run Command to execute it. Something

You cannot issue a dialog statement from a Run Command statement.
Sorry no go.
(Check the help on Run Command)
Clear as mud.
I used a Delphi DLL.
While we are on the subject how about combo boxes and list boxes that are
data aware and you do not have read 100+ records into an array before being
able to put them in your dialog box. (grrr)
