MI adding vector and bitmap images to mapinfo

Hello --

I'm using ancient MI3.0 and want to add special symbols to my maps, ones
that are not contained in MI's limited symbol library.  I have some
symbols in vector form and bitmap, but can't seem to get them onto a map.
