Sorry I had no luck with mi_tools: this does not run in MI 4.5 or MI 5.
I initially considered to rewrite it myself and to make it robust but found
very soon it was not worth the effort.
My only need was also to break a polyline at a given point.
I designed a simple MB tool associated to a toolbutton which allows to break
a line or a polyline (limitation: one section only) into two where this
polyline intersects a hand-drawn line segment; a new node is created there.
The code is not particularly robust but it gets the job done under MI 4.5 (I
did not test in 5).
If interested, I can mail you a copy of the MBX or the MB code if you have
MapBasic.
