Dear List, As Stuart Cox suggested, I downloaded the evaluation version of the MultiEdit editor. It seems to be a useful product and compiling & linking my MapBasic files worked as expected with a few exceptions. To solve tthe remaining problems - from a few MB files I could not obtain the error messages - has somebody already done the configuration of MultiEdit for MapBasic and could provide the configuration file or parameters. Did somebody observe some problems using the editor with MapBasic source code and project files ? Before I purchase the full version, I want to be sure that I make a good choice. What other editors than the conventional MapBasic editor use the people of the list. Which one is particularly recommended. Since working with MultiEdit appears to be smoothly, Bill Thoen was probably right that MapInfo should not spend effort to invent another editor. Never thought that working with alternatives is that easy.
