MapBasic on its own can be used to generate fairly decent user interfaces.
More flexibility can be obtained by embedding the user interface in DLL
functions which can be called from MapBasic; the DLLs are typically
generated outside of MapBasic, using Visual C++, Delphi etc...
Also, but adding a further level of complexity, it is possible to interface
MapInfo as an OLE automation server or DDE server ("integrated mapping").
The client (VC++, Delphi, VB etc...) is then responsible of the GUI and of
the mapping application.
Several examples are delivered with MapBasic.
