RE: Fuzzy logic
Idrisi (www.idrisi.clarku.edu) has fuzzy logic modules built into it's system
and great support for them in its manual. They also publish several books
which include apps and descriptions of use. The books include one on hazard
and risk assessment and another on GIS and decision support, both of which
are excellent.

We've used them, and even put the results into an expert system for further
analysis with good results. The resulting maps can either be vectorized and
imported into MI or imported as raster backdrops. (Idrisi is also very good at
translations, both in AND out)

Implementing fuzzy logic in a vector system is very painful, it's really a
raster app.
