Hello Folks,
        Kinda have a problem creating objects from a converted Excel
Document.

        A Little background as to how I use MapInfo here. Being in the
Communications bis the telephone poles an underground plant along the road
these locations are what (poles / pedestals) is what I place on the program
with distances between each. Each pole/pedestal has a specific number /
type associated for that location.

        The collected information is place on a Excel spreadsheet. Then
imported into MapInfo.

The Question / Problem with the data is that, I have 6 columns that use
different objects., and or use the information to calculate distances /
location. The way I have been using the program of late, is to create a
layer for each type ( Getting real Old ).

Columns:
*               Street
*               X-Street
*               City
*               1 Column for W to E location ( Pole Id's also constitutes a
grid location for each pole.)
*               1 Column for S to N location
        ** Looking for a simple coord system without creating a array with
the follow parameters**

The Coord System is broken down into two 5 digit Id's one set for W to E and
the other S to N

example: 50959 40264    ( 50959 for W to E, and 40264 for S to N )

The Five Digits break down:
                3 for What Grid                         509     402
                1 for inch's                    5       6
                1 for 1/16"                     9       4

Basic Breakdown grid:
        each grid is 10"x 10"
                0 to 100 - W to E / S to N

Column that is used for distances. Which serves 2 purposes one for the
length of a fiber optic cable ( to be created as polyline ), and one for the
support line / trench (as line segments) representing individual distances
between poles/pedestals.
