Hi ,
To fit the plotter , instead of rotating the EPS file , why don't you try
modifying the Scale(if it can be allowed to change the
scale) , so that the
whole of the file, with the desired results will fit into your paper size,
without any rotation provided.
One thing is still unclear........actually the EPS file will be constructed
from your input file(unrotated image) , so the extra data
which u r getting in the unrotated EPS will still be there in the rotated
EPS file.
So first u need to drop the extra area in the unrotaed EPS and then rotate
it to the desired position.
Thnx

The problem,
To fit the plotter, the EPS file had to be rotated (in Adobe
Illustrator, I believe).
Although the printer rotated the EPS file, the printed image did
not
rotate. In fact, the un-rotated image no longer covered just the
North Sea (as intended) but covered the whole of Europe and North
Africa.
Dataview Solutions, our Mapinfo dealer were unable to provide any
asistance with this matter and we ended up pursuing a completely
different, and unsatisfactory, solution.

Hi,
One point to be clarified........the EPS file can be loaded on ADOBE
Illustrator. As far as manipulating the image is concerned, then I would
like to
know what exactly is the problem in printing through the EPS files.
Priting through EPS files should not be a problem, for any size, be it
A0 or
something else. The EPS files can be made easily through MapInfo.

Subject: MI Output Files for A0 printing
I can happily print from Mapinfo to my HPDesignjet at A0 size, but
I
needed to produce a Wallmap using a commercial printer (4-colour
process films) due to the number of maps required.
The repro-house (being Mac-based) didn't like WMF files, so I tried
generating an EPS file from Mapinfo (v4.0). The EPS file failed
miserably;
"There seems to be a major problem in the output from Mapinfo and
in
our experience we have never satisfactorily been able to plot from
this software to high-resolution film output."
The EPS file cannot be loaded into Illustrator or Freehand, which
would solve most of the problems as the image can then be
manipulated
in a Mac format.
I did look at using MapPublisher, but this would have involved a
great
deal of time re-constructing the map.
A few questions;
Am I missing something ?
Do more recent versions of Mapinfo solve this problem ?
Is there a better way of doing this ?
I would be most grateful for any solutions/suggestions.
