I had
the same question some time ago and was given this simple advice : convert the
region to polyline then back to region. In your case, it would be more efficient
to create the object as a pline then convert it to a region,
Incidentally, I believe that the centroid is attached to the last node
created, not the first as you mentionned, but as they are at the same spot, who
cares?
