Hi,

is there a way to recover data in a transaction file?

I have the following problem:
Some days ago, I have run a mbx, at the end of which a table was being
updated but not saved. The program was running overnight. The next
morning, someone switched the computer off, without bothering to save
the table (the monitor was turned off, so the computer looked like being
turned off, too).

Usually MapInfo does not write data directly to disk (that is to give
the user a chance of reverting changes). Instead, once you change data,
this information is stored in transaction files with the extensions
.tin, tma and .tda. I believe that the information (the result of the
update) is stored in these files. Is there any way to retrieve this
data?
Once I open the table again and do some changes, new transaction files
are being created, and I can't just replace these, as MapInfo locks
them. But I hope there is a tool out there capable of reading
transaction files, especially the .tda-file.

Any hints are appreciated,

Thanks,
Andreas
