I would like to thank every one who has responded to the above request. It seems like there are quite a few different ideas out there. I would like to see more responses on how we can go about protecting ourselves from any liabilities that may be incurred due to inaccurate mapping that we may let the public have for a price.

I work for a municipality with approximately 28000 properties. We are still up in the air as to whether we sell our digital maps to the public or not. Our mapping is not accurate enough to do design work. I would like to know how other municipalities have dealt with this issue.
Any information would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks
