If your zoom level is such that you are reaching the internal precision level of
MI, this is not a surprising result. Your clipping region is made of segments
between 2 points, the intersection of such a segment with a polyline made not be
exactly on the segment, it will have to fall on one of the predetermitated
positions of the internal grid (about 11 cms for unbounded long-lat), and that
position may fall within or outside the clip area.

The only way to avoid that is to start by "overlaying nodes" of the clip region
and the polylines. That will add points to the region (and deform it so that all
points 'follow' the basic grid) and the clipped points will coincide with the
new overlaid nodes.
