Hello all,

I am trying to find out whether it is possible to display the results of an oil spill
model using mapinfo. I have only been using mapinfo for a short while and have
already encountered many problems, some of which are most probably very basic. Sorry
to fire out so many questions at once but any help with the following questions
(particularly the last one) would be greatly appreciated or at least just to find out
whether they are possible.

Is there a way to blank out maps at coastlines etc, without having to overlay a filled
in map region ?

How can a coastline made up from individual polylines be converted to one region so
that it can be filled ?

Is it possible to view the actual data that makes up lines, eg. for a coastline file ?
I want to see lats and lons of each point which I can do by clicking on them but I
need to see the whole file and edit it.

Is it possible to convert point data into lines, i.e. join up the points ?

Using vertical mapper is there a way to stop it interpolating past a certain point,
eg. stop at coast boundary ?

Can a certain zoom scale be saved as a different map that can be worked on
independently ?

Can a sequence of points be plotted in a movie type format to show changing positions
over time on the same map background ?

Thanks very much for any suggestions.

Elliot Tinton.
