The course is 1 1/2 days of instruction on the origins of classical datums, how to fit GPS data to old coordinate systems for GIS applications, what this stuff means, its history, etc. The course runs from 7:30am to 11:30am & 1:30pm to 4:30pm on Monday and from 7:30am to 11:30am on Tuesday. A superb cafeteria is in the building, telephones and internet access is available to the students. Also covered is the proper use of projections for point-positioning applications, terminology, anecdotes, stories, etc. This subject matter is applicable to users of ESRI stuff, MapInfo, Z-Map, etc. - ALL GIS application software. No comparisons or discussion is covered on the various vendors of GIS software. Comments on software are restricted to the topic of geodetic and cartographic transformations. All questions on photogrammetry are answered (if asked).
