Hi, Does anyone out there have experience using ODBC with MS SQL Server 6.x/7 and Access 97? I need to share address information with the rest of the office and be able to make live updates from MI. Overnight batch processing either direction is not really desirable. The rest of the office currently uses Access 97 tables and Access 97 front-ends, but the tables will be moved to SQL Server 6.5 within 6 mos. I know when the tables are in SQL Server, I can use ODBC to add records, read in and pass back data, etc. If I register the Access tables (i.e. access them directly from MI) I know MapInfo had/has a habit of locking the whole table, re-indexing it every time it's opened, etc. - not exactly multi-user friendly.. am I right in assuming this will not work? What I would like to know is... can I use ODBC to connect to the Access tables and share the tables in a friendly manner with the rest of the office (no corruption or excessive locking) similar to the way it will work in SQL Server? If ODBC connections to Access work well or at least as well as ODBC connections to SQL Server, I'll go ahead and hit off Access now.... Thanks! I hope I am clear....
