Three cheers for regular expressions! (And for TextPad (textpad.com), and
Dreamweaver, and ultraedit (ultraedit.com), which are three windows
program which support them.)

If you don't know what regular expressions are, you should!
(Even if Microsoft and Mapinfo don't seem to know about them.)

The O'Reilly (ora.com) book on the subject was rather heavy for me. I
found the simple TextPad help file to be very helpful.

Regular expressions let you search and act upon text and numeric PATTERNS,
rather than just particular text.
